It was a 4.3 up north, since I am in Central IL I didn't feel a thing. So we probably were at like a 2 something. So meh.

Earthquakes are extremely rare in the Midwest but scientists are saying we could have a HUGE earthquake at some point here since we have before.

yes the new madrid is set to go off.....any time now...last time it took the then capital of illinois with it (sometimes it good to have a geologist in the house).....earthquakes are not fun.....felt quite a few while living in japan--and the houses over there are made quite as well as ours--things rattling, cupboard doors opening....yeah, can do with out that for sure.

sister lives not too far from that one---says she felt it, wasnt very happy about it either.

Sorry to hear that too Azzer (and yeah, I know exactly how you feel---my first mystery illness happened when I was 16--and still have it to this day, had to go to school et al. last one happened about 2 years ago and seeing as I can no longer afford the rather expensive tests, guess it will never BE solved)...Hang in there.

Plate tectonics. That is all it is. But ya it is interesting to see how something so seemingly insignificant can cause so much damage.

free health care....will ...never...happen...here.

plate tectonics arent insignificant....every continent and body of water is on one (at least one)....its pretty mind boggling if you stop to really think about it.

hubby made some indian chickpea vegetarian thing for dinner----still hungry after eating it.

Well, free health care means they don't bother as much as "private" hospitals.

I'm just fascinated by what the nature can bring, it's always awfull, but it's fascinating to see.

I had some water again for breakfast. yay

They are insignificant because people don't think about them. Most people think, how much damage can these plates do when they are right next to each other because they don't understand the basics. So much energy can be built up from them rubbing together. It's crazy.

I had a vitamin, some nasal spray for my allergies and a glass of Pepsi in an attempt to keep me awake in this hellish day. Of course having to take a cold shower helps. >.<

Well so much for our blizzard, 8-14" turned out to be 2-3", you should hear all the excuses the weather people are giving for being so wrong.

got a doc appointment today...not looking forward to trying to start my non-winterized car (usually use one for summer and one for winter...but hubby went in to work today so I have to use the other one....lets hope it starts, it HATES cold weather--which is why its the summer car!)

oy.

I used to want to be a meteorologist. Then I decided not to be. Yup.

So big controversy about my colleges bball game Tuesday against our rivals. Apparently some of our rivals fans were standing right in front of some of our cheerleaders, a male and a female one, and they proceeded to bump into the girl. She happens to be a friend of mine so I got to hear about it. The students were drunk but COME ON! Whatever happened to class? Just because you are drunk doesn't mean you get to make a complete ass of yourself. The problem with the other institution is that their students forget they represent their Uni. Yes, students here forget it too sometimes, but srsly? I want to see more class from fans. Don't go bump into someone who you know can't fight back and especially someone of the opposite sex. In the words of Ron Burgundy, stay classy. /endrant

That's what I'm planning on majoring in.

Anyways, today in class I sat next to some lady who felt the need to nudge me everytime she thought something she said was funny. I think I'll be early next time and strategically plot out the seating chart in an effort to avoid her.

(we hadnt left out house since monday---so the car had not moved since then)...guess its time to have some things checked on it too (I hear the dealers eyes closing to the sound of a cash register )

made a chicken and potato 'gratin' for dinner...oy.

I like laughing at people sometimes. Especially if they annoy the crap out of me... Oh hey, it's Friday and I don't have to novice teach! Non-busy day right? WRONG! Now this afternoon I have to attend a board meeting for a organization I'm in on campus... EFFFFFFFF
